In Melissa Francis' past career, prior to real estate, she earned her Social Service Worker Diploma and her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work (with Honours) from Ryerson University. She then spent several years working primarily with youth and women dealing with a variety of socio-economic issues. After having children and staying home for a few years, Melissa decided to pursue a new career in real estate. She earned her Real Estate License in 2010 through the Ontario Real Estate College and has never looked back!
Melissa's social work training and experience have helped prepare her for her career in real estate by shaping the way in which she works with all her clients and her community. Melissa’s success in her business can be attributed to her genuine need to work honestly and ethically with her clients, her ability to treat all clients equally, the way in which she values each client’s individual needs, her strong networking and research skills, and her in-depth knowledge of the real estate market and of her community.
Building community relationships and fostering community involvement is very important to Melissa and she has worked hard to integrate these core values into her business through her volunteer work as a Cambridge Moms’ Admin, her facilitation of the Hespeler Moms’ Social Club, her support, and organization of the Hespeler Village Easter Egg Hunt, the Hespeler Village Halloween Hunt, the Cambridge Moms’ Food Drive, Truckin’ Tuesdays: Hespeler’s Food Festival and her continuous efforts to raise donations for, and also contributing herself to, community organizations such as the Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region, the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank, Lisaard House, Tourette Canada, and Hespeler Minor Hockey - Atom A Team, to just name a few.

Prior to obtaining her Real Estate License in 2017, Vicky received her Graphic Design Diploma from Georgian College in 2003 and worked for TC Media where she utilized her skills to design and market a major Canadian brand - M&M Food Market. Having the opportunity to work on the team at TC Media encouraged Vicky to build upon her existing research, networking, active listening, interviewing, and teamwork skills. She has been able to successfully transfer and continue to develop these skills within The Melissa Francis Team with every buyer she works with!
During her time with The Melissa Francis Team, Vicky has proven herself time and time again to be a reliable and trustworthy Buyer's Agent. Vicky genuinely cares about her clients and works tirelessly to ensure that they are making educated decisions so they are able to make the best possible purchase for themselves and their families. Vicky was welcomed onto The Melissa Francis Team as a Buyer’s Agent in 2018 after Melissa and Vicky had the opportunity to work together on a property that Melissa had listed for sale. Vicky had brought a successful offer forward and Melissa was very impressed with the way that Vicky presented herself, represented her Buyers, negotiated the offer, helped facilitate the process, and treated all parties to the transaction with respect and kindness throughout. Melissa felt that although Vicky was a newer agent at the time she already possessed some of the core values that are the cornerstone of The Melissa Francis Team (and which are those that cannot be taught) such as, integrity, honesty, empathy, professionalism and a strong desire to ensure that her clients and community are being well taken care of.
Melanie Jaffray first joined The Melissa Francis Team in 2021 as our Office & Marketing Manager and has since successfully transitioned into a full time Realtor! Melanie brings several years of relevant real estate law-related education and work experience. This experience of working on a transaction from a legal perspective gives Melanie unique insight into the entire real estate process and will only further benefit her clients by assisting to ensure that they are fully protected throughout their real estate purchase.
Prior to completing the Real Estate Salesperson Program through OREA in 2020, Melanie attended Seneca College and earned her Law Clerk Diploma in 2016, and further enhanced her education with the Paralegal Program in 2017. This desire to learn and expand her skill set is indicative of Melanie’s nature in both her professional and personal life - she is a very driven and hardworking professional who fits in perfectly with our Team!
Since graduating, Melanie has the unique advantage of possessing multiple years of experience working in Law Firms focusing on Real Estate and has gained extensive experience within residential, commercial, and condo development in which she would work on an entire real estate transaction from the moment a brokerage provides the law firm with offer documents all the way to the client’s closing. Melanie draws on this valuable experience to help her clients make smart, confident, and informed real estate decisions.
Melanie follows in her Aunt Melissa’s footsteps and is very dedicated to her clients and to her community and her genuine, friendly and committed personality ensures that she works hard to build strong relationships with both.
